Remains found in Ocala backyard believed to be missing man

Possible human remains of man who went missing in 2000 found in Marion County, deputies say.

OCALA, Fla. -

Detectives in Marion County believe they have found the remains of a missing man buried in a backyard.

Two months ago investigators received a tip that Jerry Chirstilaw died during a domestic dispute in 2000 and was buried in the backyard where he used to live.

Investigators searched the backyard with the help of a family member and found what they believe are remains.

They are trying to determine if the remains are that of Chirstilaw and who is responsible for his death.
