BISMARCK, N.D. -

For 30 minutes on Sunday, Bismarck was likely the "classiest" city in the United States, as "legendary" anchorman Ron Burgundy made a surprise appearance on the 6 p.m. news.

Actor and comedian Will Ferrell reprised his role from the 2004 film "Anchorman" during a KXMB newscast.

Sitting alongside KXMB anchor Amber Schatz, Burgundy delivered news about a Black Friday fire, a tree lighting and speeding drivers.

Burgundy was dressed in his dark red three-piece suit as he mixed in short quips and witty remarks about the stories in the newscast.

The former "Channel 4" anchor briefly flirted with his colleague when the newscast returned from its second break.

"You look lovely tonight, Amber," Burgundy told his co-anchor. "Are you married? Well I am, so don't get any ideas."

Schatz told The Associated Press it was hard to hold back her laughter during the newscast.

"The second he said, 'Good evening, I'm Ron Burgundy,' I lost it," Schatz told The Associated Press.
