VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. -

Students in the Marine Discovery Center's Coastal Module of the Florida Master Naturalist Program recently had an opportunity to assist with the release of a sub-adult Loggerhead sea turtle.

The Marine Discovery Center said it paired with the Marine Science Center to release the turtle during the students' field trip to Canaveral National Seashore on Nov. 1.

The turtle was stranded at Canaveral National Seashore several months ago and was rehabilitated at the Marine Science Center in Ponce Inlet, before officials said it was tagged and released into the Atlantic Ocean earlier.
