SeaWorld to cut hours for part-timers

SeaWorld plans to cut hours for thousands of part-time workers, allowing the company to save money by not having to offer them healthcare.

Currently, SeaWorld limits part-time workers to 32 hours a week but will soon introduce a 28-hour cap.

The Affordable Care Act classifies those working 32 hours a week as full-time. By making this change, SeaWorld won’t have to offer health care coverage to its part-time workers.

SeaWorld said it does plan to offer more full-time jobs in 2014.
