Semitruck spills lumber after overturning on Turnpike in Lake County, FHP says

Both northbound lanes reopen after vehicle spills lumber into roadway

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. – A semitruck spilled lumber onto the Florida Turnpike when it overturned Saturday, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

It happened around 5:30 p.m. on the Florida Turnpike near mile marker 276 in Lake County.

Troopers said a semitruck hauling lumber was heading north on the turnpike in the left lane when for an unknown reason, it traveled off onto the left shoulder and the driver over-corrected.

The semitruck then overturned, spilling lumber into the roadway, troopers said. Both northbound lanes were reopened at 7:42 p.m.

Troopers said the crash remains under investigation and charges were pending.
