Two people are shot by Daytona Beach police.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -

Two Daytona Beach police officers who shot a former NFL player in 2013 won't be punished for their actions, according to the state attorney's office.

Jermaine Green, 32, was holding a knife to his girlfriend's body, preparing to stab her when officers Kevin Connelly and Richard Maher opened fire, hitting Green five times in the leg and the stomach, according to police.

Green's girlfriend, Katrina Johnson, was also hit once, but survived.

The state attorney, along with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, found that the shooting was justified.
