Man arrested on murder charge in fatal Orange County shooting

Deputies ID victim as Emilio Jose Curet

ORLANDO, Fla. – A man was arrested on murder charges in the death of a 21-year-old man who was shot Tuesday night in Orange County, deputies said.

Orange County deputies identified the victim as Emilio Jose Curet, whose death was ruled a homicide.

Deputies said Mathew Jesus Prieto, 24, was arrested on a charge of first-degree murder.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office said deputies were called to the 7700 block of Toledo Street near Goldenrod Road in Orlando after shots were fired in the area.

Deputies said they found Curet wounded on the front porch of a home. He was pronounced dead after first responders' attempts at reviving him failed.

Details about Prieto's arrest have not been released.
