Testimony continues in the trial for the man accused of killing a Brevard County sheriff's deputy.

VIERA, Fla. -

Testimony continued on Wednesday morning in the trial for the man accused of killing a Brevard County sheriff's deputy.

Emotions were high in the courtroom on Tuesday as prosecutors told the jury Brandon Bradley shot Deputy Barbara Pill five times and she never reached for her gun.

Bradley faced his ex-girlfriend for the first time since their arrest after Andria Kerchner took a plea deal in January. She is expected to be a key witness for the state.

The defense argued her drug use means she can't accurately testify, but the judge didn't agree.

Bradley could face the death penalty on first-degree murder charges.
