Jose Quinones Vega
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -

Florida Highway patrol troopers said they arrested a man after his car hit a bus stop and struck a teen who was sitting and waiting for her bus.

Troopers said the accident happened around 10:58 a.m. Saturday at Texas Avenue and Oak Ridge Road.

Troopers said 33-year-old Jose Quinones-Vega was headed west on Oak Ridge Road when he lost control of his car.

Troopers said Vega hit a curb, then launched into the bus stop where 18-year-old Jessica Hayes was sitting.

Troopers said the car hit a pole that supported the bus stop and also ran into a trash can.

Hayes was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center where she remained in critical condition.

Vega was arrested for reckless driving and driving without a driver's license.

Vega was taken to the Orange County Jail and bailed out later that evening.
