2 struck, killed while pushing stalled car in Apopka

Two juvenile males were killed when an SUV crashed into them while they were pushing their car after it broke down in Apopka.

APOPKA, Fla. -

Police in Apopka are investigating a fatal accident that killed two males Friday night.

It happened near the intersection of Rock Springs Road and E. Welch Road.

Sgt. Ed Chittenden from the Apopka Police Department says four juvenile males were driving when their car broke down. Three of them got out to push and the fourth stayed inside the car, to steer.  While they were pushing,  an SUV came up behind them and hit two of the juveniles. 

Investigators say the two victims died at the scene.  The third male who pushing and the male inside the car were not injured.

Apopka police said the teens killed were 18-year-old Axel Pedro and 18-year-old Cameron Gonzalez.

Sgt. Chittenden says investigators are trying to determine if the SUV driver is at fault.  No charges have been filed and the investigation is ongoing.
