UCF professor to speak on climate change impact
A UCF professor has been invited to share his findings on the potential impact of climate during a national event next month.
Engineering professor Scott Hagen is one of eight scientists that will make presentations at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Science Day on Oct. 1 in Maryland. His segment of the program will include a webinar that scientists and policy makers can view.
Hagen has recently been working on a NOAA-funded research project with an interdisciplinary team. The $3 million, five-year project begin in 2010 and is looking into the ecological effects of sea-level rise in the northern Gulf of Mexico.
Several teams at UCF have been working on the impacts of climate change, with funding coming from groups including NASA and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
