CLERMONT, Fla. -

The Florida Highway Patrol said a man from Winter Garden crashed into a power pole and was then electrocuted when he got out of his car.

Troopers said the accident happened around 1 p.m. on Cook and Schofield Roads in Clermont.

Troopers said 21-year-old Jamal Ashim, Winter Garden, was west on Cook Road, when for unknown reasons he lost control of his SUV.

Troopers said Ashim struck a power pole which brought down live wires from the broken pole.

Troopers said Ashim was not injured in the accident, and when he got out of his car, he did not see the power lines and walked into them.

Troopers said Ashim was electrocuted and found by a passerby who saw the crashed car.

Troopers said this crash remains under investigation.
