Woman, 74, accused of attacking Eustis police officers
A 74-year-old woman was caught on video attacking Eustis police officers, and police say it got so bad, they were forced to put a mask over her mouth to restrain her.
Beverly Price is charged with DUI, resisting an officer and five counts of battery on a law enforcement officer for spitting at police. She has since bonded out of the Lake County jail.
According to police, Price crashed her car into a sign near the intersection of Orange Avenue and Grove Street then tried to "take off" on them on Tuesday.
When officers caught up with Price, they said she smelled of alcohol and became violent.
Video from inside the police booking station shows Price screaming obscenities at officers and demanding her handcuffs be removed.
"I want these off right now!" yelled Price. "Right now!"
Officers said they also found several beer cans in her car and they suspected she was drunk. When they asked if she was suffering from a medical condition, she threatened to kill them.
"I just hate men! You better get the (bleep) away from me before I kill you," screamed Price.
Officers said for 32 minutes, she continued to scream obscenities and spit at them.
Price later told a paramedics that she had gone with her ex-husband to the doctor's office, but he was behind the wheel. She then accused police of taking her dogs from her car and hurting her and asked to be taken to the hospital.
Local 6 tried to reach out to Price at her Paisley home, but her gate was locked, she turned off her lights and would not answer our calls.
