A woman was arrested in Seminole County early Friday on suspicion of driving while drunk with a child in the back seat of her car.
Michele Louise Stubbs was arrested in Chuluota on charges of DUI, child neglect without great bodily harm and having an open container in a moving vehicle.
According to the Seminole County Sheriff's Office, Stubbs was driving 61 mph in a 45 mph zone on Snow Hill Road near Maple Tree Lane. A deputy pulled her over for speeding and said he could smell alcohol on her breath.
A child, whose age was not released, was in a car seat in the back of the car, and a six-pack of Miller Lite was also in the vehicle, deputies said. There were four beers in the six-pack, one of which was opened, deputies said.
Stubbs said she had had a couple of drinks earlier in the night but refused to talk about it in detail, said the deputy, who added that she also refused a standardized field sobriety test and to provide a breath sample.
Stubbs was arrested and taken to jail.
It's not known who was given custody of the child.
