Volusia County deputies are searching for the man in an attempted purse-snatching who they say was kicked in the privates by the woman he attacked.

The victim told deputies she was walking to her job at The House Next Door Counseling Center at 7 a.m. Friday when she was approached by a man who she says sleeps on the park bench in front of her office.

The man then asked for money, deputies said. According to the report, when the victim said she didn't have any money to give, the man grabbed her arm and tried to take her purse.

The victim struggled with the man and kicked him in the testicles, deputies said. The man then ran toward Deltona Boulevard- without the woman's purse.

The man was described by deputies as a white male in his mid-40s to 50s, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a plaid shirt and khaki pants.

Contact deputies if you have any information about the incident.
