Woman pushed to ground, robbed at Volusia Mall

A woman shopping at a mall was pushed to the ground and robbed in a purse-snatching, Daytona Beach police said.

The robbery occurred Wednesday night at the Volusia Mall.

According to Daytona Beach police, the woman was leaving a store when a man pushed her to the ground and took her bag before running away.

The man was described as 18 to 23 years old, about 5 feet 9 inches tall with a slim build.  He was wearing a dark jacket and dark pants.

The Daytona Beach Police Department urged shoppers to:

  • Park in well-lit areas
  • Be aware of their surroundings
  • Remain vigilant
  • Lock packages in the trunks of their vehicles
