Tiger Woods victory at the AT&T National at Congressional Country Club in Washington, DC Sunday places him second on the all-time list of tour victories at 74, surpassing Jack Nicklaus.
Woods is now just eight tour wins behind the legendary Sam Snead, and with the British Open just over two weeks away, has his sights set on a 15th major win.
Woods dispatched a scrappy Bo Van Pelt by two strokes in the final round, finishing the tournament at 8 under par and moving himself to the top of the FedEx Cup charts for the year so far.
Woods is the only player on tour to have won three events this year.
Van Pelt played at even par on the final day, taking bogeys on the final two holes to push himself out of a tie for the lead, finishing at 6 under for the week.
Adam Scott finished in third place at 5 under for the tournament.
Ahead on the tour are The Greenbrier Classic in West Virginia and the John Deere Classic in Illinois before the British Open at Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Club beginning July 19.
