Zach Johnson came into Sunday's Crowne Plaza Invitational one stroke behind tour leader Jason Dufner but ended the day one stroke ahead to win the tournament.

He did so even after taking a two-stroke penalty on the final hole for failing to properly re-mark his ball before sinking his final putt.

Johnson and Dufner played the day as the final twosome, leading their closest competitors by 4 to 5 strokes throughout the day.

Dufner has been on top of the golf world with two tournament wins in the past month, followed by Sunday's second-place finish.

The win propelled Johnson from 18th to 3rd in the FedEx Cup points race.

Up next for the PGA tour is the Memorial, May 31-June 3 at Muirfield Village in Dublin, Ohio, with the U.S. Open scheduled for mid-June.
