Central Florida to heat up; Rain forecast later in week

ORLANDO, Fla. -

Sunshine has ruled Central Florida this week with temperatures soaring into the mid- to upper 80s, but changes may be on the way.

The high temperature will reach 87 degrees on Wednesday in the Orlando area, with a small chance of rain.

"A new front will move in for Thursday and Friday, bringing rain and storm chances," said Local 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges, who estimated the coverage area to 30 percent on Thursday and 50 percent on Friday.

High temperatures will stay in the mid- and upper 80s into next week.

There will be a 30 percent chance of rain over the weekend.
