The same front that recently brought severe storms to the central part of the U.S. will move into Central Florida.
High winds were reported in Central Florida earlier on Friday, with wind advisories issued by the National Weather Service in Brevard, Lake and Flagler counties.
Edgewater residents told Local 6 the 40 mph wind gusts caused a dead tree to fall on their house. Four people were in the home at the time and no injuries were reported, but the house has been condemned.
As of Friday late afternoon, the storm still hadn't hit Central Florida, although rain chances increased to 50 percent.
"The system will weaken, but it will bring strong winds and lightning by Friday afternoon for the drive home," Local 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges said.
The front will stall out through the weekend, and rain chances will be on and off at 40 percent both Saturday and Sunday.
High temperatures will be in the mid-80s for the weekend.
