Chilly temps to arrive in Central Florida as overnight rain clears

Cloudy skies, temps in low 50s expected Saturday

ORLANDO, Fla. – After a rainy night in Central Florida, the wet weather will begin to clear throughout the day Saturday.

Temperatures will fall Saturday as colder air moves into the area.

"Most of the day will be rather cloudy in the 50s, with a bit more sunshine late this afternoon," News 6 meteorologist Samara Cokinos said. "The northwest wind will pick up and turn gusty, making it feel a little bit colder than actual readings, especially overnight."

Boating conditions throughout the weekend will be hazardous.

Without clouds in the sky to keep conditions a bit warmer, overnight temperatures will reach lows in the 30s.

"Factor in the 10 to 15 miles per hour northwest wind and it will feel like 26 to 34 degrees into tomorrow morning," Cokinos said.

There is a freeze watch in Marion County overnight until 9 a.m. Sunday.

Remember to bring pets inside and cover the plants while preparing for the cold temperatures.

"Bundle up and stay warm," Cokinos said. "It looks like the colder weather is here to stay for a few days!"
